KHBS-KHOG Adds Darby Bybee to Weather Team

KHBS-KHOG has announced Darby Bybee will join the ABC affiliate as the weekend evening meteorologist.

“Darby’s addition creates the largest team of meteorologists in our viewing area and enhances our commitment to provide the most comprehensive weather coverage around the clock,” said KHBS-KHOG news director, Greg Shepperd.

The station said Bybee, who comes from KARK in Little Rock, has logged nearly 45,000 miles in 23 states while reporting on tornadoes and hail and wind events.  He previously worked at KLKN in Lincoln, NE. Read more

KARK Now Searching for Meteorologist to Replace Brett Cummins

“We are in the process of interviewing meteorologists for our open position,” KARK news director Rob Heverling told TVSpy today via email, talking about the vacancy left by Brett Cummins, who resigned from his chief meteorologist post last week after he was found asleep in a bathtub with a dead body.

While the station searches for Cummins’s replacement, weekend meteorologist Greg Dee is working weekday mornings and Darby Bybee, who joined the station last month from Lincoln’s KLKN, has taken over Cummins’s former spot on KARK’s nightly newscasts.

The Little Rock NBC-affiliate currently has a job posting up on its website. Read more

Lorena Rabago joins WTSP as the CBS-affiliate’s new traffic reporter and fill-in weather anchor. She comes to WTSP from Fresno’s KFSN.

Joel Brown is joining WTVD as a weekend anchor-reporter. Brown has been a CBS Newspath correspondent since 2007.

Brett Jenkins has been named vice president chief technology officer at LIN Media.

Meteorologist Glenn Willey moves to KTVX in Salt Lake City, where he will report in addition to covering the weather. Willey previously worked at WTVD in Raleigh. Read more
