Mike Headrick, Dave McCann Set to Debut on KSL

In the wake of Bruce Lindsay‘s retirement from KSL, the station has announced there will be three anchors on the evening newscasts, beginning tonight.

The Salt Lake City NBC-affiliate announced in March that Dave McCann (right) would replace Lindsay, who has anchored the evening newscasts for 34 years. This weekend, it was announced that Mike Headrick (left), who joins KSL from KDVR in Denver, will be the third anchor for the program.

“It’s surprising how adding a third person can change the whole dynamic of a show,” Tanya Vea, KSL’s executive vice president of news, said in a statement. “This will allow us to better highlight our communities in new, exciting ways.” Read more

Anchor Bruce Lindsay Says Goodbye to KSL

Longtime KSL anchor Bruce Lindsay ended his 38-year broadcasting career on Wednesday, anchoring the Salt Lake City NBC-affiliate’s 10 p.m. newscast for the last time.

“Like so much of the news, life is filled with beginnings and endings, and changes in between, and I’m very lucky because even this ending is sweet,” Lindsay told viewers on Wednesday, as he signed off for the final time. “I’m indebted to KSL for fulfilling so many of my dreams, on its dime.”

Lindsay, 61, will be heading to Australia this summer on a Mormon mission, along with his wife and son. Read more

Tapped as Lead Anchor at KSL, Dave McCann Bids Farewell to KLAS

After two decades at KLAS in Las Vegas, Dave McCann is set to join KLS in Salt Lake City as the station’s lead male anchor, and he bid farewell to his longtime home this morning.

“I’m going to call you every morning at 3:30,” McCann’s morning co-anchor Dayna Roselli joked during KLAS’s a.m. show on Friday.

KSL Picks Dave McCann to Succeed Bruce Lindsay as Lead Anchor

Dave McCann, a veteran anchor who currently serves as the play-by-play voice for Brigham Young University football and basketball, has been chosen to succeed Bruce Lindsay as KSL‘s lead male anchor.

Lindsay announced his plans to retire in January, after more than three decades with the Salt Lake City NBC-affiliate.

A Utah native, McCann has spent 19 years working as an anchor for KLAS in Las Vegas.

“I think this is the best job in all of television,” McCann said. “You couldn’t ask for a better scenario. I will officially be living the dream.” Read more
