Astrid Solorzano to Join Little Rock CBS Affiliate

solorzano kthv croppedLittle Rock CBS affiliate KTHV has announced Astrid Solorzano as a reporter.

“I was impressed from the first minute I met Astrid and convinced she will continue to build on the strong storytelling, community involvement and passion for great news we expect here at KTHV,” news director Dave Parker said in a statement.

Solorzano, who starts Monday, previously worked as an anchor/reporter/producer for Annenberg TV News.

KTHV Adds Mary Dunleavy as Sports Anchor

dunleavy kthv_croppedMary Dunleavy has joined Little Rock, AR, CBS affiliate KTHV as sports anchor.

Dunleavy comes to KTHV from WVIR in Charlottesville, VA.

KTHV news director Dave Parker told TVSpy, “We are wasting no time introducing Mary to Arkansas and its love for football as her first assignment with be reporting live this week from Razorbacks spring football practice.”

KTHV Adds Denise Middleton as Anchor

Denise Middleton AnnounceLittle Rock CBS affiliate KTHV has announced Denise Middleton as evening anchor.

“I am very excited to have Denise on board,” KTHV news director Dave Parker said in a statement. “She brings a wealth of knowledge, energy, and passion to her work. Denise’s commitment to community is an important foundation for sharing the stories important to Arkansans.”

Middleton last worked at KSLA in Shreveport, LA, as morning anchor. She has also worked at KHAS in Hastings, NE.

KTHV Adds Two Reporters from Closed Virginia Station

grossman_raymond_kthvLittle Rock, AR, CBS affiliate KTHV has picked up two reporters from the now closed TV3 in Winchester, VA.

Dan Grossman, who had worked at TV3 for a few months before it shut down in December, started at KTHV earlier this week.

Alyssa Raymond starts Monday. She had been with TV3 for two years.

KTHV news director Dave Parker told TVspy, he is “very excited that we were able to get 2 quality reporters to help us here at THV11 and also offer new opportunities to both Dan and Alyssa. Truly a win-win.”

KTHV Hires Weekend Anchor

Phil Buck is joining Little Rock CBS affiliate KTHV as the weekend anchor and reporter.

Buck comes to KTHV from Missoula, MT, CBS affiliate KPAX where he anchored “Montana This Morning.”

“While at KPAX, he had the opportunity to cover everything from breaking news with wildfires in Glacier National Park to investigative reports ranging from exposing Montana’s DUI culture to the challenges of daycare regulation and oversight,” said KTHV news director Dave Parker. “Phil’s experience is a welcome addition to our team.” Read more

Marlisa Goldsmith to Join KTHV

Marlisa Goldsmith will join Little Rock CBS affiliate KTHV as a multimedia journalist.

“Marlisa’s experience combined with her excitement about joining our team makes her a great match here at THV 11,” said KTHV news director Dave Parker. “We’re very excited to welcome her on-board.”

Goldsmith comes to KTHV from KRBC in Abilene, TX, where she was a reporter and anchor. She started her broadcast career at KEYE in Austin, TX, as a producer/editor for news and sports. Her first day at KTHV will be Monday.

Dave Parker Joins KTHV as News Director

Dave Parker has been named news director for Little Rock CBS affiliate KTHV.

“I am thrilled to be joining the news team at THV 11,” said Parker. “I have always been committed to great story telling, responsible journalism and becoming a big part of the community.  My family is equally excited about making the move to Arkansas.”

Parker comes to KTHV from WCAU, the Philadelphia NBC owned station, where he has been the assistant news director for the last ten years. Read more

Assistant News Director Dave Parker Out at WCAU

Assistant news director Dave Parker is leaving WCAU, a spokesperson for the NBC O&O confirmed to TVSpy.

Parker’s departure comes two weeks after Chris Blackman stepped down as news director, saying he and recently-named general manager Eric Lerner came to the “mutual conclusion that it’s time for new leadership in the newsroom.”

Parker has been the assistant news director at WCAU since 2002. His last day will be June 19.

“I want nothing but the best for NBC 10 and wish much success to Eric and his team,” Parker wrote in an email to staffers obtained by the 247Newsroom. “I will miss seeing all of you. Simply put, goodbye and I love you guys.”
