Stensrud has not appeared on the Mankato CBS-affiliate since December 4. Video of the newscast, which Stensrud was unable to finish, went viral and led to much speculation that the anchor was drunk.

Stensrud issued a statement apologizing for her “terrible” performance, saying, “I’ve been sick for some time and taking medication, and have missed a lot of work lately.” In an interview with WCCO radio, KEYC general manager Dennis Walhstrom said the anchor was “sick,” not drunk.

Stensrud was arrested Wednesday morning after an anonymous resident called the North Mankato Police Department to report “an intoxicated person was leaving a Roe Crest Drive residence in a vehicle,” the Free Press reports.
