WTSP Promotes and Adds Anchor and Reporter

Lim Roundtree RobinsonWTSP has made a couple of changes around 25 year station veteran Reginald Roundtree.

Roundtree, who anchors the 5:30, 6:00 and 11:00 p.m. news at the Tampa Bay CBS affiliate, recently lost his co-anchor Heather Van Nest.

Dion Lim (pictured right) who anchored the 5:00 with Van Nest and 5:30 p.m. with Roundtree is now off the 5:30 p.m., but will co-anchor with Roundtree on the 6:00 and 11:00 p.m. news.

Joining Lim at 5:00 and Roundtree at 5:30 will be Courtney Robinson (pictured left) who comes to the station from WZVN in Fort Myers. She will also report at 11:00 p.m.

Lim started at WTSP in January. Robinson has also worked at WJLA in Washington, D.C. and WSET in Lynchburg, Va.

Dion Lim Joining Tampa CBS Affiliate

dionlim_croppedDion Lim is joining Tampa-St. Petersburg CBS affiliate WTSP.

WTSP news director Peter Roghaar told TVSpy Lim starts January 27 as anchor for the 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. news. She will report for the 11:00 p.m.

“I had anticipated staying in Charlotte for the rest of my career,” Lim told the Charlotte Observer. [but] “I went down to visit and the opportunity was great [O]bviously, Florida has some crazy news. It sounds pretty exciting,” she added.

Lim left Charlotte’s WCNC Friday. She previously worked at KMBC in Kansas City. She has also worked in Springfield, MA, and in Hartford, CT.

Charlotte’s WCNC Plans to Expand 4 p.m. Newscast

WCNC, Charlotte’s NBC-affiliate, will be making changes to the 4 p.m. newscast later this month.

The re-launched newscast will be expanded from 30 minutes to a full hour, and will combine features on health, finance, real estate and social media with traditional news coverage, WCNC executive news director Corrie Harding told the Charlotte Observer.

Sonja Gantt (pictured) will take over the anchoring duties from Dion Lim and Bobby Sisk beginning January 30. Gantt, who currently helms the 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts, will be replaced by Lim at 11 p.m. Sisk will contribute to the new newscast, as well as continuing to anchor the 5:30 p.m. program.
