Don Hudson will join Rochester NBC-affiliate WHEC as an anchor and reporter this fall.

Hudson is currently the 5 p.m. anchor at KTVX, the ABC-affiliate in Salt Lake City. He will begin in his new role in late September, according to the station. He replaces Rich Funke, who is retiring after 38 years at WHEC.

KTVX is shuffling its on-air roster as the station prepares to expand its 4:00 p.m. newscast following a strong showing in November.

The Salt Lake City ABC-affiliate announced this week that Brent Hunsaker and Kylie Conway (pictured) will be the new main anchor team, while Don Hudson and Kim Fischer, who joins KTVX from KXAS in Dallas, will team up for the 5:00 p.m. weekday newscast.

KTVX is bidding farewell to current weekday evening anchor Karen Carlson, who is expecting her first child within a few weeks and is leaving to become a stay-at-home mom. Read more
