News Director Doug Hogan Leaving WTVQ

WTVQ news director Doug Hogan is leaving the station for a job as communications director of The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky in Louisville.

Hogan has been the news director at the Lexington ABC-affiliate since 2008. General manager Chris Aldridge told the Lexington Herald-Leader that WTVQ is currently searching for his replacement.

“We certainly appreciate the good job Doug has done for us,” Aldridge said. “He’s been a pleasure to work with, and I wish him the best in his new career.”

Alridge said the station hopes to hire a replacement for Hogan by May 1.

Anchor Kristi Runyon Leaving Lexington’s WTVQ

Kristi Runyon, an anchor at WTVQ in Lexington, is leaving the ABC-affiliate after 12 years. Her last day will be tomorrow.

“The news industry, and certainly WTVQ, has seen a lot of changes,” Runyon told the Lexington Herald-Leader. “Some of them have been for the better, and some of them haven’t.”

Runyon, the morning and noon anchor at the station, said it was time for her “to look for something outside the news business.” She has accepted a job in public relations.

News director Doug Hogan said Runyon’s replacement has been selected and is from outside the market.
