On the Move, 12/30/13

Elle Duncan joins NESN in Boston as sports anchor, host and reporter. She was a traffic reporter at WXIA in Atlanta.

Kris Anderson jumps 43 markets to weekend morning anchor/reporter at WHDH in Boston. Anderson comes from WREG in Memphis.

Scott Smith will anchor the 6:00 p.m. news at FOX owned station WTTG in Washington, DC in addition to being sports director.

Walter Makaula joins Miami CBS owned station WFOR as co-anchor for its weekday morning newscast. Makaula comes from KSWB in San Diego.

Jacqueline Crea joins KHOU in Houston as reporter. She comes from KTSM in El Paso.

Duncan, Anderson, Makaula, Smith and Crea are all represented by Matthew Kingsley at 3 Kings Entertainment.

Elle Duncan Joins NESN From WXIA

elle duncanElle Duncan is joining NESN as an anchor, host and reporter in February 2014.

“Elle’s incredible sports knowledge, relatable personality and quick wit stood out as best-in-class during a nationwide search for top new talent in sports television. We are very excited to bring her skills and personality to New England fans,” NESN vice president of programming and production/executive producer Joseph Maar said in a statement.

Duncan comes from Atlanta NBC affiliate WXIA, where she has been a traffic reporter since May 2012. She also currently works as a sideline reporter for the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks.

Atlanta Traffic Reporter Arrested for DUI

Elle Duncan, morning traffic reporter for Atlanta NBC affiliate WXIA was arrested for DUI over the weekend.

“I am greatly embarrassed for my actions early Sunday morning,” said Duncan in a statement posted to the station website. “I have been reminded — in a very difficult way – that any amount of alcohol can impair us. I take full responsibility for my actions. I apologize to my fans, our community, and my 11Alive family.”

WXIA added, “We are relieved that no one was injured and will be giving Elle the time she needs to deal with this personal incident.” Read more

Traffic Reporter Elle Duncan Joins Atlanta’s WXIA

Elle Duncan has joined Atlanta NBC-affiliate WXIA as a morning traffic reporter, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Duncan has previously worked for several local radio stations in the area. She debuted today on the station’s 4:30 a.m. newscast, and will be full time beginning Monday, WXIA general manager John Deushane said.

She replaces Nick Vavas, who is returning to New York, the Journal-Constitution reports.
