Anchor Emily Linnert Returns to Grand Rapid’s WOOD Following Maternity Leave

Anchor Emily Linnert has retained her position as co-anchor of WOOD’s morning newscast following her maternity leave.

Linnert debuted on the NBC-affiliate’s “Daybreak” newscast last January, after working as a weekend anchor for the station. The move left Jennifer Moss, the previous morning anchor, heading for the exits.

Linnert has been away on leave after giving birth in November.  She is married to WOOD photojournalist Evan Linnert and the two welcomed their second daughter.

Linnert, who has been with the Grand Rapids station since 2006, will return to co-anchoring “Daybreak” on February 3rd alongside Brett Thomas. Read more
