Emily Smith, who is a familiar face for New York viewers after regularly contributing “CBS Money Watch” reports to WCBS, is joining the CBS-affiliate as a general assignment reporter.
“While working at network on the overnight shift, I did a couple of live MoneyWatch reports each day for CBS 2’s morning show,” Smith, who used to anchor CBS’s “Up to the Minute,” pointed out. “I noticed quickly it’s a solid newsroom with a top notch team.”
Smith is a native of upstate New York and previously worked as a reporter for WABC.
“Emily Smith is a highly experienced and accomplished reporter,” said David Friend, WCBS’s news director, in making the announcement. “We are thrilled to have her extensive New York experience added to our superb CBS 2 reporting team.”
