Eric Kahnert Set to Return to Denver

kahnert kmghEric Kahnert is going back to Denver as an anchor for ABC affiliate KMGH.

Kahnert left Denver’s KUSA in 2012 to work as an anchor for KSTP in Minneapolis, MN.

“The team at 7NEWS is hungry and eager to change how news is done in Colorado,” Kahnert said in a statement. “And that is something I am proud to be a part of.”

Kahnert has also worked at KOB in Albuquerque, NM. He starts at KMGH on June 30.

On the Move, 9/24/12

Whit Johnson joins KNBC in Los Angeles, where he will anchor the noon newscast and report for the 5 and 6 p.m. newscasts. Previously, Johnson was a correspondent for CBS News in Washington, DC.

Adam Joseph has been named the 10pm meteorologist for WPVI in Philadelphia. He will continue in his role as meteorologist for the 4 and 5 p.m. newscasts, as well as co-hosting the weekly entertainment show.

Eric Kahnert Leaves KUSA for KSTP

While one KSTP host will soon leave the anchor desk, another is joining. Eric Kahnert returns to his home state of Minnesota where he will anchor weekday evenings at KSTP. Kahnert joins the Hubbard-owned ABC affiliate later this month from KUSA in Denver where he was weekend anchor.

“I am thrilled to return to my home state with my family, and proud to continue my career with the Hubbard family,” Kahnert said in a news release.

Kahnert worked for Hubbard’s KOB-TV in Albuquerque before joining Gannett-owned KUSA in 2009.

Kahnert was born and raised in Apple Valley, Minnesota, and his wife is from Northfield.
