Erica Collura Joining WKRC in Cincinnati

WHIO_collura_croppedErica Collura, the meteorologist who recently left WHIO in Dayton, OH, isn’t moving far. Cincinnati’s WKRC announced she will join the Sinclair owned CBS affiliate next Thursday, October 24.

“We are happy to have a meteorologist like Erica joining The Weather Authority team at Local 12,” WKRC news director Kirk Varner said in a statement. “Her experience in forecasting the weather for our part of the country makes her a great addition to what is now the largest team of broadcast meteorologists in the Tri-State.”

Collura, who started her career at WHIO, will work on the WKRC 4:00 p.m. news and the 10:00 p.m. news on the digital CW subchannel.

Meteorologist Erica Collura Leaving WHIO

WHIO_collura_croppedErica Collura, meteorologist for WHIO, has announced she is leaving the Dayton, OH, CBS affiliate.

“I want to thank all of you who have watched me grow over the last 3 years,” Collura told viewers on facebook. “I cannot thank you enough for inviting me into your home to watch me bring you the weather and some additional knowledge, good or bad. I will miss this area and you.”

Collura started her career at WHIO in August 2010. Sunday will be her last day at WHIO.

Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs Joins WHIO

McCall Vrydaghs begins this month as the weekend meteorologist at WHIO, the CBS affiliate in Dayton.

Vrydaghs moves to Ohio from New York City, where she has been a meteorologist at Verizon’s Fios1 news channel since 2011 She has also worked at CNN Headline News Radio. She will be WHIO’s second weekend meteorologist, working alongside Erica Collura.

“Dayton and Storm Center 7 have a lot to offer,” Vrydaghs said in a statement. “I’m excited to be joining such an excellent weather team, and look forward to meeting our viewers.”
