Grace Lee to Anchor Hawaii News Now Morning Show

Earlier today we reported Bay Area media blogger Rich Lieberman was saying Grace Lee was leaving KPIX.

Confirmation of Grace Lee‘s (pictured center) departure from the San Francisco CBS owned station has come from her new station, Hawaii News Now.

News director Mark Platte confirmed Lee will anchor the station’s morning news show “Sunrise.”  Lee began working for KGMB in 2002 before leaving for KCRA in Sacramento.  She returned to KGMB in 2007 to launch “Sunrise.”  She left again in 2010 to join KPIX as an anchor and reporter. Read more

Grace Lee Leaving KPIX for Hawaii

Grace Lee, reporter for San Francisco CBS owned station KPIX, is headed back to Hawaii, according Bay Area media blogger Rich Lieberman.

Lee came to KPIX from Hawaii’s KGMB and, according to Lieberman, started at KPIX under the premise she would anchor.

When Lee was hired at CBS5, she believed she was promised an anchor job, according to the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the nature of the story.  Lee co-anchored the morning show for a time and was then made the station’s political reporter.

Lieberman said Lee is returning to an undisclosed station in Hawaii. TVSpy has reached out to KPIX to confirm the report but has not yet heard back.
