Haley Hinds jumps 49 markets to join WTVT in Tampa, Fla. as a weekend anchor and reporter. Hinds was weekend anchor and reporter at WINK in Ft. Myers.

Steve Patterson has been promoted to anchor and host of Twin Cities Live at KSTP in Minneapolis, Minn. He was previously an anchor and reporter for the station.

Ron Zappolo joins his former station KUSA in Denver, Colo. as a sports commentator. Zappolo will also host “Pregame with Ron Zappolo” at Altitude Sports and Entertainment.

Josh Marshall jumps 39 markets and joins KCTV in Kansas City, Mo. as a reporter. Marshall comes from WEYI in Flint, Mich. where he was a multimedia journalist.

Parker Slaybaugh has been promoted to investigative reporter at WRIC in Richmond, VA from his duties as a video journalist at the station. Read more

Haley Hinds Leaves WINK

Yesterday was anchor/reporter Haley Hinds‘ last day at Fort Myers, Fla, CBS affiliate WINK. Hinds is leaving the station after five years to join FOX owned WTVT in Tampa. She wrote the following on her Facebook page:

It’s a bittersweet morning for me. Today is my very last morning show on WINK News! In a couple weeks, I’ll start a new job at FOX 13 in Tampa. It’s been an incredible 5 years here in Fort Myers. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for welcoming me into your homes and watching me grow to be a better journalist each day. I’ll miss you all!

Bob Irzyk Ditches Sports to Anchor Weekends for WINK

Bob Irzyk, former sports director at Oklahoma City ABC affiliate KOCO, will anchor the WINK weekend news with co-anchor Haley Hinds beginning September 30.

Irzyk announced the move to the Fort Myers, FL, CBS affiliate on his facebook page while addressing the switch away from sports, “Yes you read that right..NEWS.. I guess I’m Re-Inventing myself at this stage of my career after doing Sports for 25 years. I’m Very Excited About this new Challenge!”

Irzyk left KOCO earlier this month after three years there. Hinds had been anchoring the WINK news solo since Jeremiah Jacobson left for KARE in November 2012.
