Jason Allen Departs Orlando for Dallas’s KTVT

Jason Allen becomes the third reporter in as many months to leave Orlando’s WFTV for a shot at a bigger market, as he accepts a position with CBS O&O KTVT in Dallas.

In January, Eric Rasmussen left WFTV for KTVU in San Francisco and last month Kenneth Moton departed for Philadelphia’s WPVI.

Allen has steadily worked his way up the market ladder, beginning with stops in Casper, WY and Green Bay before spending the last four years with ABC-affiliate WFTV.

“I’ll miss working at the beach, and miss morning surf sessions, but I’m excited about what’s ahead,” Allen told Hal Boedeker of the Orlando Sentinel.

Bob Jordan, WFTV’s news director, promises that the station is busy finding capable replacements for the upwardly mobile reporters.
