KNBC Says Goodbye to Burbank Studios

KNBC broadcast its final newscasts from its longtime home in Burbank this weekend. The NBC owned station, which has been in Burbank since 1962, is relocating to Universal City to join the rest of the NBC Universal properties in Los Angeles.

The debut of KNBC’s new studios coincides with the start of the Sochi Olympics, which will be broadcast on NBC beginning Thursday. Watch Carl Bell‘s farewell tour of the Burbank studios:

KNBC is not the only NBCUnversal property saying goodbye to the Burbank lot this week: Thursday marks the final “Tonight Show” from Los Angeles. The late-night show moves to New York later this month as Jimmy Fallon takes over for Jay Leno.

Olive Garden Critic Marilyn Hagerty Discusses Her Newfound Fame in WDAZ Interview

Marilyn Hagerty, the Grand Forks Herald columnist who has become an internet celebrity for her no-nonsense review of a local Olive Garden, recently sat down with WDAZ reporter Melanie Orlins to discuss her newfound fame.

“Somebody told me I went viral, I didn’t know what that meant,” Hagerty told Orlins. “The phone has been ringing all the time and I’ve been answering it and then the emails keep pouring in and I’ve been trying to keep track of that… I still don’t get it.”

With interview requests flooding her inbox, Hagerty says that she’s probably going to cross Jay Leno off her list of suitors since she doesn’t like the way he combs his hair. Video inside… Read more

After Appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Old KIDK Clip Goes Viral

After an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” last week, a local news clip featuring some rogue weather graphics (watch above) went viral, becoming fodder on a slew of websites, as well as NBC’s “Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”

Although the video was uploaded to YouTube on August 29 of this year, the actual source of the video, from Idaho Falls CBS-affiliate KIDK, is two years old, according to KDSK, and features anchors who no longer even work at the station.
