Anne Cutler is being promoted to morning co-anchor at WGNO, the ABC affiliate in New Orleans.

Cutler, who joined the station in 2010 as a reporter for the morning newscast, will begin February 1. Cutler will also anchor the 11 a.m. newscast solo.

“Anne has immersed herself in the culture, history, traditions, and vibe of New Orleans. She’s a great addition to ‘Good Morning New Orleans’ and WGNO News at 11a. She’ll bring her new love of the city and journalistic flair to morning viewers,” WGNO news director Rick Erbach said in a statement.

Cutler replaces Jocelyn Lockwood, who is leaving WGNO to travel the world with her husband.

WGNO morning anchor Jocelyn Lockwood announced Monday that she is leaving the New Orleans ABC affiliate to spend a year traveling the world (video after the jump).

Lockwood, who called the trip a “lifelong dream,” will sign off at the end of the month.

“I’m very, very excited. For many years my husband and I have always talked about traveling the world — it’s one of those things that you talk about, you dream about, but you never expect to do,” Lockwood said. “But for us, we decided to go for it. Because why not?” Read more
