In Omaha, KMTV Adding 4 p.m. Newscast

KMTV will debut a 4 p.m. newscast in September, the Omaha CBS affiliate announced today.

It was not immediately clear who will anchor the half-hour newscast or what else will shift in KMTV’s programming schedule. The station currently airs “Dr. Phil” at 4 p.m. and has newscasts anchored by Jennifer Griswold and Craig Nigrelli at 5, 6 and 10 p.m.

“Expanding the local news options by adding a 4 p.m. newscast will help the KMTV Action 3 News team better serve viewers in the Omaha area,” news director Joe Spadea said in a statement.

Oklahoma Fox-affiliate KOKH has cut ties with news director Joe Spadea and longtime anchor Andrew Speno (pictured).

“Just so you don’t hafta hear it on the streets, I parted ways w/ Fox 25,” Speno tweeted, announcing the end of a nine year run as KOKH’s main anchor.

Oklahoma City media blog The Lost Ogle reports that Spadea and Speno, as well as an employee from HR, were all fired or asked to resign this week.
