WBDT Expands Evening Newscasts

Beginning next week, the 10 p.m. newscast on Dayton CW affiliate WBDT will be expanded from 30 minutes to an hour.

In a statement announcing the news, WDTN-WBDT president and general manager Joe Abouzeid said the expansion was prompted by “audience demand.”

“We listen to our viewers and it was clear to us that they wanted more local news and weather at a time that’s convenient to them,” he said.

The newscast, which was launched in 2007, is anchored by Mark Allan and Katie Ussin. It is produced by WDTN, which operates WBDT under a local marketing agreement.
