Richard Doutre’Jones Named GM at Salt Lake City’s KTVX-KUCW

Nexstar Broadcasting has named Richard Doutre’Jones vice president and general manager of KTVX and KUCW, the ABC and CW affiliates in Salt Lake City.

Doutre’Jones spent 18 years at KBHK (now KBCW) in San Francisco, working as a local and national sales manager, general sales manager and station manager. In 2001, he moved to San Diego, where he became VP-GM of XETV-XDTV. Most recently, he has served as the vice president of Jones Broadcast group while also operating RDJ Global, providing consulting and M&A advisory services to broadcast and other companies.

“With his depth of local broadcasting expertise, strong client relationships, and dedication to the local Salt Lake community, we are confident that Richard is the ideal person to lead the television and e-media operations of KTVX and KUCW,” Nexstar COO Brian Jones said in a statement.

Doutre’Jones replaces Matt Jaquint at the stations. KTVX-KUCW underwent a round of layoffs before Christmas.

CBS Appoints New GMs in San Francisco and Chicago: Bruno Cohen to KPIX, Marty Wilke to WBBM

CBS announced two new general managers at its O&Os this morning: Bruno Cohen (pictured) will join KPIX in San Francisco, and Marty Wilke will join WBBM in Chicago.

Cohen replaces Ron Longinotti, whose departure was first reported yesterday by San Francisco media blogger Rich Leiberman. In a statement, CBS said Longinotti is “leaving the company to pursue other endeavors.”

Cohen has been the general manager at WBBM since 2008. He is a Bay Area native who was president and general manager of KOVR-KMAX, the CBS duopoly in Sacramento, for three years before moving to Chicago. In his new role, he will also oversee CBS-owned CW affiliates KBCW in San Francisco and KSTW in Seattle. continued…

KPIX To Produce Weekend Newscast For KBCW

Beginning January 8, San Francisco CBS O&O KPIX will produce a Sunday morning newscast for CW-affiliate KBCW.

The hourlong newscast will air at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings. It will be anchored by Anne Makovec (pictured) and Phil Matier, who are the current weekend morning anchors for KPIX. The two stations, both owned by CBS, operate as a duopoly in San Francisco.

The newscast will compete with Fox-affiliate KTVU, which is the only other station that has a local newscast in the 8 a.m. hour.

CBS has appointed two market communications directors, reflecting the company’s increased focus on refining its footprint in local media.

Ro Dooley-Webster has been named Boston market communications director and Akilah Bolden-Monifa has been named San Francisco Bay Area market communications director.

Dooley-Webster and Bolden-Monifa currently manage communications for the CBS stations in their respective markets. With this appointment, they will now oversee communications for all of CBS’s local properties, including TV, radio, and online, in their markets.

In announcing the appointments, CBS Local Media COO Anton Guitano trumpeted the success that the company has seen in both markets since it launched CBSSanFrancisco.com and CBSBoston.com, which brought its local TV and radio properties under one online banner.

Dooley-Webster has been serving as communications director for CBS-affiliate WBZ and its independent sister station WSBK. Bolden-Monifa has been the communications director for CBS-affiliate KPIX as well as CW-affiliate KBCW.
