Dick Anthony, a longtime news anchor who spent 23 years at KDAL in Duluth, died Monday. He was 92.

Anthony began his career at KDAL (now known as KDLH) from radio in 1953, according to the Duluth News Tribune.

“He was an instritution,” Duluth historian Jim Heffernan said. “The original 6 o’clock news guy.”

In his long tenure at the station, he played several roles: reporter, producer and anchor. He kept busy with radio broadcasts in the morning and television broadcasts in the evening, his son Rick told the News Tribune. Read more
