Kendra Lyn Says Goodbye to KXAS

kendra lynKendra Lyn signed off from KXAS, the NBC owned station in Dallas, on Friday. Lyn, a general assignment reporter, is relocating to Orlando, where she previously worked at WESH.

Lyn told Dallas media blogger Ed Bark that a new job opportunity for her husband coincided with the end of her contract at KXAS. “We’re relocating for his job, and we miss the friends, family and ties we have in Florida,” Lyn told Bark. “I’ll definitely pursue available television opportunities in Orlando.”

Lyn joined the NBC owned station in 2012. She has also worked at stations in Green Bay and Rochester, Minn.

Christine Haas joins KNSD in San Diego from KHOU in Houston. She will anchor the 4 and 5 p.m. newscasts.

WBBM reporter Kristyn Hartman is moving to Columbus in June. She will be a weeknight anchor and reporter for WBNS.

Stacey Bell joins News 12 Long Island from WJW in Cleveland.

Mike Dardis, an anchor and reporter at KOMO in Seattle, is moving to WLWT in Cincinnati, where he will be the 5 p.m. anchor.

KXAS Makes Changes to Morning Newscast as Anchor Scott Friedman Returns to Investigative Reporting

Changes are coming to the morning newscast at KXAS, the NBC O&O in Dallas.

Scott Friedman, who currently anchors the newscast, is leaving the anchor desk to run the station’s newly-launched investigative team.

“I could not pass up the opportunity to be part of this new team,” Friedman said in a statement. The investigative reporting unit, which will be launched when it is fully staffed, will include a producer, researcher and photographer. Friedman will remain at the anchor desk alongside Deborah Ferguson until his replacement is named.

KXAS morning meteorologist Jennifer Lopez is leaving the station after four years. She will be replaced on an interim basis by Samantha Davies, who joined the station last year as meteorologist for the 4:30 a.m. newscast. Read more
