Angela Taylor to Join WESH

Angela Taylor is joining Hearst-owned Orlando NBC affiliate WESH as an evening anchor.

Taylor comes to Orlando from Hearst’s KHBS in Fort Smith, Ark.

According to Orlando Sentinel media writer Hal Boedeker, Taylor will join Brett Connolly on the WESH 5:00 p.m. and WESH’s 10:00 p.m. news on WKCF. Read more

WESH Promotes Meredith McDonough

mcdonough weshMeredith McDonough has been named evening anchor for Orlando NBC affiliate WESH.

McDonough started at WESH in 2011 as the weekend anchor before being moved to weekday mornings in 2012.

“Meredith is an incredible anchor and journalist, and I am very pleased that she will become an integral part of the evening broadcasts,” said WESH news director Kirsten Wolff.

Hal Boedeker of the Orlando Sentinel reports McDonough replaces Martha Sugalski who left in July.

The station soon will announce the addition of another evening anchor to the mix, WESH General Manager Jim Carter said.

Stewart Moore to Mornings at WESH-WKCF

stewart mooreWESH has announced Stewart Moore will anchor the 7 to 9 a.m. newscast on sister station WKCF, the CW affiliate in Orlando, beginning April 21.

Moore joined WESH in 2011 as a weekend anchor and reporter. He will anchor alongside Michelle Imperato when she joins the station in June. Both Moore and Imperato will also appear on the WESH morning newscast, which airs from 5 to 7 a.m.

“Stewart brings a tremendous amount of energy and experience both as a reporter and anchor, and we are thrilled that he will be anchoring weekday mornings,” WESH news director Kirsten Wolff said in a statement.

Michelle Imperato Joins WESH From KSBW

michelle imperatoMichelle Imperato is joining WESH, the NBC affiliate in Orlando. She begins in her role as the station’s morning anchor on June 2.

Imperato comes from KSBW in Montery, Calif., where she was the morning anchor and reporter. She previously worked as an anchor and reporter for WLNY in Long Island, N.Y.

“We are thrilled to have a person of Michelle’s caliber join the WESH 2 News Anchor team. She has tremendous experience not only as an anchor, but also as a reporter who has covered major breaking news stories,” WESH news director Kirsten Wolff said in a statement.

WESH Names Kirsten Wolff News Director

weshKirsten Wolff has been named news director for Hearst owned Orlando NBC affiliate WESH.

Wolff posted the news to her facebook page, “I am blown away by today. 7 years ago I dreamed of becoming a News Director. I took a 3,000 mile leap of faith and landed in Orlando. Fell in love with the WESH Newsroom. Today my dream came true. I feel so much love and support from my family – they kind of have to give it .. and my co-workers – they definitely DON’T have to give it. But I feel it! Can’t wait to live this chapter with all of you!”

She replaces Bob Longo who left the station last month.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Wolff has worked for WESH’s parent company Hearst for 23 years, starting as a photojournalist and working as a producer. Before coming to WESH, Wolff worked at Hearst’s KCRA in Sacramento.
