Justin Andrews Joins KWWL From KTVO

justin andrews ktvo_304x200After less than a year at KTVO in Kirksville, Mo., Justin Andrews is set to join KWWL, the NBC affiliate in Waterloo, Iowa.

“I’ve had the opportunity to share stories of triumph and tragedy while here in the Heartland,” he wrote on Facebook. “It’s bittersweet that I’ll be leaving KTVO in October … You’ve invited me into you homes every weekend giving you the latest on what’s going on in your neighborhood. I’ll miss sharing YOUR stories!”

Before joining KTVO in November 2012, Andrews worked as an associate producer and fill-in assignment editor at KMBC, the ABC affiliate in Kansas City.

Leo Henning Appointed VP-GM of KOZL-KOLR

Nexstar Broadcasting has announced Leo Henning will be vice president and general manager of KOZL, an independent station in Springfield, MO, effective immediately. Henning will also oversee KOLR, Mission Broadcasting’s CBS-affiliate, which Nexstar operates under a joint operating agreement.

Henning comes from Saukview Media, where he is the president and CEO. Prior to that, he spent five years at Barrington Broadcasting, where he was group head of several stations, including WNWO in Toledo, KRCG in Columbia, WHOI in Peoria, KHQA in Hannibal, WLUC in Marquette and KTVO in Kirksland. Before joining Barrington, Henning spent 33 years at Quincy Newspapers’ Broadcast Group.

“With his local broadcasting expertise, strong client relationships, and dedication to the local communities he has served for many years in the Ozarks and Midwest, we are confident that Leo is the ideal person to lead KOZL’s television and e-media operations,” Nexstar COO Brian Jones said in a statement.

Carlos Correa Joins KERO From KRWG

Carlos Correa has joined KERO, the ABC-affiliate in Bakersfield, as a general assignment reporter, Media Moves reports.

Correa comes from KRWG, the PBS station in El Paso, where he has been a multimedia reporter and news director for the past two years. He has previously worked as a reporter and anchor for KOLR-KSFX in Springfield, MO, and at KTVO in Ottumwa, IA.

He began his career as at WMAQ, the NBC O&O in Chicago, where he was an assignment desk editor and field producer.
