Darrin McDonald will move from vice president and general manager of Las Vegas Fox affiliate KVVU to vice president and general manager of the Kansas City duopoly KCTV-KSMO.  Taking McDonald’s place in Las Vegas will be Todd Brown, who was promoted from general sales manager at KVVU.  McDonald fills the vacancy left by the departure of Robert Totsch in October.

“Darrin has been a great leader at KVVU and will use his skills and expertise to build upon our presence in the Kansas City market,” said Paul Karpowicz, president of the Local Media Group.  “Todd is well poised to be successful as he steps into his new role at KVVU, and will be an asset to our group’s leadership team.” Read more

She will be replaced by Stefanie Jay, a general assignment reporter at the station, and John Dabkovich, who is joining KVVU from KBAK in Bakersfield.

Video: Ron Paul Supporters Protest Fox News Coverage Outside Meredith-Owned KVVU

Supporters of presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) have long been vocal about the perceived media bias against Paul, particularly on Fox News Channel, where they feel their candidate doesn’t get a fair shake. Yesterday, they took to the streets in Las Vegas to protest Fox News outside Fox affiliate KVVU.

The only problem? KVVU is owned by Meredith Corporation — not News Corp., which is the parent company of both Fox Broadcasting and Fox News Channel. As part of a standard station affiliation agreement, KVVU shares video and reporters with their affiliated network — in this case, Fox News Channel — but makes editorial decisions independently.
