Raúl Peimbert Set to Join KXLN in Houston

Raúl Peimbert is joining KXLN, the Univision affiliate in Houston, Media Moves reports.

Peimbert will begin at KXLN on October 25 as co-anchor of the 10 p.m. newscast alongside Michelle Galván. He replaces Osvaldo Corral, who will continue as Galvan’s co-anchor at 5 p.m.

Peimbert most recently worked at KMEX, the Univision station in Los Angeles, where he was the senior west coast correspondent for network and affiliate news. Prior to that, he was the station’s weeknight anchor, a job he held for six years. He began his career in 1991 as an anchor of Univision’s “Noticias y Más.”

Univision’s KUVN Promotes Tamez to News Director

Carlos Tamez has been promoted to news director at KUVN, the Univision owned-and-operated station in Dallas.

Tamez, the executive producer of newscasts at KUVN, joined the station in 2003 as a producer. Prior to that, he was a producer at a station in Mexico City, according to Media Moves.

He replaces Martha Kattan, who left KUVN to be the news director at KXLN, the Univision station in Houston.
