Jeff Herndon joins WFLD in Chicago as the anchor of the 9 p.m. newscast. He was previously an anchor and reporter at KAKE in Wichita.

Jan Jeffcoat joins WUSA in Washington, D.C., where she will anchor the 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts. She was previously the host of Scripps’ syndicated newsmagazine “The List.”

Lisa Sylvester, a former anchor and correspondent at CNN, joins WPXI in Pittsburgh as anchor of the evening newscasts.

Sports Anchor Kyle Montgomery Out at KPRC

Sports anchor Kyle Montgomery has left Houston NBC affiliate KPRC, media blogger Mike McGuff reports.

Montgomery joined KPRC in June 2012 from Raycom Sports’ ACC network, where he had worked since 2011. He previously worked at NBA TV and Turner Sports, as well as at WSFA in Montgomery, Ala. and WDAM in Hattiesburg, Miss.

According to McGuff, Montgomery’s bio was stripped from the KPRC website on April 1. According to TVEyes, his last appearance on the station was March 31.

Sports Anchor Kyle Montgomery Joins KPRC

Kyle Montgomery is joining KPRC as the weekend sports anchor, Houston media blogger Mike McGuff reports.

Montgomery joins the Houston NBC-affiliate from the Raycom Sports ACC digital nework, where he has worked since last year.

“I plan to provide viewers with a fun, exciting and enjoyable sports experience as much as possible and I’m anxious to become a part of the Houston community,” Montgomery told McGuff. “If you see me out and about give me a shout or a glass of water if you see me struggling with the heat.” Read more
