WRTV Adds Two to ‘Good Morning Indiana’

WRTV, the Indianapolis ABC affiliate, has announced the addition of a multimedia journalist and a traffic reporter to “Good Morning Indiana.”

Katie Heinz (pictured right) joins the station as a multimedia journalist for both “Good Morning Indiana Weekend” and the weekday morning show. Lauren Casey (pictured left) joins WRTV weekday morning anchors Beth Vaughn, Marc Mullins and meteorologists Todd Klaassen and Ashley Brown as traffic reporter on Monday September 16.

“Knowing what is happening right now is a priority for our morning viewers,” says Cope-Walton. “The addition of Lauren and Katie expands our morning coverage. We are pleased they chose to join our team.”

Heinz last worked at WICS in Springfield, IL, while Casey comes from Franklin College.

Report: WCCO Reprimands Employee for Wearing Blonde ‘New Hire’ Costume

WCCO, the station known for its fondness of Chinatown delicacies, has popped up again in the gossip pages following a report that an employee was scolded for wearing an inappropriate costume to a party.

Here’s Star Tribune gossip columnist C.J.:

I’m told that WCCO’s HR department had a heart-to-heart with an employee who attended a Halloween party with colleagues wearing a nametag that read “New Hire,” along with a blonde wig and some strategic stuffing that made him look bodaciously busty.

C.J. reports that station management may have found out about the costume from seeing photos on Facebook. Read more

Stephen Cropper is staying in the Pittsburgh market, becoming the new chief meteorologist for WPXI.  Cropper leaves WTAE where he has been since 1995.

Matt Lorch is moving home to Seattle, where he’s set to become the new 5 p.m. anchor for KCPQ.  He leaves Boston’s WHDH where he anchored early evenings and reported.

Don Teague joins Fox O&O KRIV in Houston as primary anchor.  Teague departs CBS News where he was a Texas-based correspondent for the last two years, and prior, was with NBC News based in Dallas and Atlanta.

Melissa Long is returning to Atlanta to join WXIA as 10 p.m. anchor.  Most recently, Long was an anchor and correspondent for Bloomberg TV in New York. Read more
