Troy Christensen Joins WLS From KFOR

troy christensenMeteorologist Troy Christensen has joined WLS, the ABC owned station in Chicago, Robert Feder reports.

Christensen joins WLS from KFOR, the NBC affiliate in Oklahoma City. He made his debut Saturday morning on the 6 and 8 a.m. newscasts, which are anchored by Stacy Baca. He replaces Mark Bishop, who left in June to join WZTV in Nashville.

Before joining KFOR, Christensen worked at KLBK, the CBS affiliate in Lubbock, Texas.

WLS Meteorologist Leaving News for Education

TVSpy has confirmed WLS weekend morning meteorologist Mark Bishop is leaving the Chicago ABC owned station to be a full-time professor at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN.

A WLS spokesperson told TVSpy, “We wish him well. We wish him nothing but the best in his new opportunity.”

Bishop will work in the university’s Department of Communications. He joined WLS in 2005. For the last 12 years, he has been a full-time professor in the Department of Communications at Olivet Nazarene University outside of Chicago.
