Matt Stewart Lands at WDAF

Matt Stewart, former morning and weekend co-anchor for Kansas City’s CBS affiliate KCTV joins rival station WDAF (FOX) as morning reporter.

Stewart’s last day on air for KCTV was August 2nd.

“I am really excited to stay in Kansas City and work for such a great station,” Stewart told Bottom Line. “I’ve always admired the way WDAF puts together their morning show – it’s loose, fun and informative at the same time.”

Besides KCTV, Stewart previously worked for KCAU in Sioux City, Iowa, KHGI in Kearny, Neb., Wand DTN in Dayton.  He began his career as a photographer at WOWT in Omaha.

Morning Anchor Matt Stewart Leaving KCTV

Morning anchor Matt Stewart is leaving Kansas City CBS-affiliate KCTV.

Last month, KCTV announced that Alexis Del Cid had been hired from KOIN to helm the morning newscast. She begins next month.

“The station has decided to bring in a brand new morning anchor team, and it’s unfortunate I will be leaving KCTV5 after 8 years of hard work and loyal service,” Stewart told Bottom Line Communications.  “I will miss many of my co-workers, and I wish them the best in the future.” Read more

KOIN Anchor Alexis Del Cid Joining KCTV

Alexis Del Cid will join KCTV, the CBS-affiliate in Kansas City, in August.

Del Cid joins KCTV from KOIN in Portland,OR , where she has anchored the morning and noon newscasts for the last eight years. She will co-anchor the KCTV newscast alongside Matt Stewart.

“We have made a solid commitment to providing our viewers with consistent and reliable news. Alexis’ solid and strong news background will enhance that commitment,” KCTV news director Blaise Labbe said in a statement. “She is very energetic and has a unique way of engaging viewers.” Read more
