WBAL Adds Megan Pringle to Morning Team

pringle wmar_croppedMegan Pringle is joining Baltimore NBC affiliate WBAL as weekend morning anchor. weekday morning reporter.

“Megan’s long experience covering Baltimore news is the perfect complement to our already strong morning team,” WBAL president and GM Dan Joerres said in a statement.

Pringle, who will work with Jason Newton and Mindy Basara, left Baltimore ABC affiliate WMAR in November to work in PR.

Megan Pringle Signs Off From ‘Good Morning Maryland’

Megan Pringle anchor for WMAR‘s “Good Morning Maryland” signed off from the Baltimore ABC affiliate last week.

She tossed to a package thanking viewers for watching her over the seven years she’d worked at the station and was then joined on set by family and friends.

According to the station, Pringle is leaving to work in public relations. She started at WMAR in January 2007.

Traffic Reporter Lauren Cook Joins WMAR

Lauren Cook has been hired as a traffic reporter at WMAR, the ABC-affiliate in Baltimore.

Since 2007, she has been a traffic reporter at rival WBFF, the Fox-affiliate in Baltimore. Prior to that, she was a reporter at Fox News Channel and WNYW, the Fox O&O in New York City.

Cook will be the traffic reporter on the morning newscast, which is anchored by Charley Crowson and Megan Pringle. She started at WMAR yesterday.

WMAR Becomes First Station in Baltimore to Start Mornings at 4:30

ABC-affiliate WMAR became the first station in Baltimore to begin its morning newscast at 4:30 a.m. today. Following a national trend, WMAR debuted its expanded newscast this morning.

“People are waking up earlier to get to work and to get their families going,” news director Kelly Groft pointed out, “and we’ll be there first thing in the morning to help them start their day off right.”

The expanded newscast features WMAR’s established morning team of anchors Megan Pringle and Charley Crowson, and meteorologist Justin Berk (promo video above). Read more
