Woman Sues KHOU After Report Claims She Locked Her Kids in Hot Car

khou kids car reportA Texas mother is suing Houston CBS affiliate KHOU after a report that falsely accused her of leaving her children in a hot car while she went to get a hair cut, the Houston Chronicle reports.

KHOU reported on the incident July 15 based on a witness who said shoppers “took matters into their own hands,” smashing the car window with a hammer while their mother, Araceli Cisneros, was inside the mall. HLN’s Nancy Grace Looks Into Jodi Huisentruit Disappearance

Tonight’s episode of “Nancy Grace Mysteries” on HLN features the disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit, a former anchor at KIMT in Mason City, Iowa who went missing in 1995 (watch a preview below).

Huisentruit, who was declared legally dead in 2001, did not show up at work the day of her disappearance in 1995. When a producer for the station reached her by phone at 4 a.m., Huisentruit said she had overslept and was on her way to work. She never arrived at the station. Near her car, which was found in the parking lot of her apartment building, police found evidence of a struggle.

Jose Baez: WFTV is ‘the Worst Tabloid Channel’

Today is the one-year anniversary of Casey Anthony‘s acquittal in the death of her daughter, Caylee. Anthony’s attorney, Jose Baez, has just released a book about the case, which was the subject of intense coverage in the Orlando market. The Orlando Sentinel‘s Hal Boedeker breaks down the details:

Early in the book, he blasts WFTV-Channel 9 as “the worst tabloid channel” and “a channel so inflammatory it was just a notch below ‘Nancy Grace.’”

Baez rips WKMG-Channel 6’s Tony Pipitone for being presumptuous in suggesting that Baez work on an insanity defense for Anthony. Baez blasts Michelle Meredith of WESH-Channel 2 for asking “a ridiculous and inflammatory question.” Read more
