George Spencer Joins WCAU From WFTV

George Spencer is joining NBC-owned WCAU in Philadelphia as a general assignment reporter next month.

Spencer moves to Philadelphia from Orlando, where he has been an anchor and reporter at ABC affiliate WFTV since 2008. Prior to that, he held the same role at News 12 The Bronx in New York City.

“George is a dynamic journalist,” WCAU vice president of news Anzio Williams said in a statement. “His style of reporting works well with our mission of delivering viewers the very best news and information available.”

WABC’s Marci Gonzalez Joins ABC News

WABC reporter Marci Gonzalez is joining ABC News as a New York-based correspondent for NewsOne.

Gonzalez joined the New York City ABC O&O as a reporter in 2011. She has also worked at WPTV in West Palm Beach and News 12 The Bronx.

“At Eyewitness News Marci has had a keen eye for important and informative stories, covering communities hit hardest by Superstorm Sandy, the tragic mass shootings in Aurora and Newtown and the Penn State scandal,” ABC News president Ben Sherwood wrote in an email to staffers Friday. “We’re very excited that she’ll now be part of the excellent team at NewsOne.”

John Schriffen Named ABC News Correspondent

John Schriffen is joining ABC News as a New York-based correspondent, president Ben Sherwood announced today.

Schriffen most recently was a freelance reporter for WCBS, the CBS O&O in New York City. Prior to that, he was a general assignment reporter at WRC, the NBC O&O in Washington, DC, for three years. He started his television career in New York City as a reporter for News 12 The Bronx.

“John brings great energy, creativity and competitiveness to his journalism and will report for all of our platforms,” Sherwood wrote in a memo to ABC News staffers this morning. “Please join me in welcoming him aboard.”
