Elwell, who joined ONN in 1998, will begin at the Columbus CBS-affiliate in September after ONN shuts down at the end of August. During his time at the network, the ONN weather team won several Ohio Associated Press awards for “Best Weather Operation,” including in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Brian McIntyre, who spent 18 years working as a reporter in markets around Ohio, died Sunday night following a battle with cancer. He was 42.
McIntyre spent most of his broadcasting career covering the news in his hometown of Cleveland, first with WEWS and last with local cable news station ONN. He also worked at WBNS in Columbus and WNWO in Toledo.
After eight years at ONN, McIntyre left TV in 2009 for a job as a a community relations specialist for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Read more
Hove applied for and received a grant from the National Science Foundation to travel to Antarctica and report on a group of Ohians who are currently doing research there.
After a long journey that included a pair of earthquakes in New Zealand, Hove arrived in Antarctica over the weekend and is now reporting live for ONN via Skype, in addition to shooting video and keeping a blog on the regional cable news channel’s website. Read more
Cole will anchor ONN’s evening news block alongside Mike Kallmeyer. She’s scheduled to make her on-air debut on Monday, October 24th.

WOWK announced in August that Cole was leaving the station at the end of her contract, which expires in October. In the meantime, Cole continues to anchor the CBS-affiliate’s 6, 7, and 11 p.m. newscasts.
