Polo Sandoval Joins CNN From KRGV

polo sandovalPolo Sandoval is joining CNN Newsource as a national correspondent based in Washington, D.C. Sandoval comes from KRGV, the ABC affiliate in Welasco, Texas.

“Polo is a versatile and talented journalist, who gets to the crux of a story,” Paul Crum, the vice president of news operations, administration and affiliate services for CNN/U.S., said in a statement. “His range of enterprise reporting from the field will further enhance CNN Newsource.”

Since 2007, Sandoval has been the Hidalgo County Border bureau chief at KRGV. Before that, he worked as an intern at KTBC, the Fox owned station in Austin. More from CNN after the jump.  Read more

WSVN Reporter René Marsh Joins CNN Newsource

After more than four years at Miami Fox-affiliate WSVN, René Marsh is joining CNN Newsource as a national correspondent.

Marsh will be based in Washington, DC for the new assignment, CNN announced today. In a statement, CNN vice president of news operations, administration and affiliate services Paul Crum praised Marsh for her “insights and presence,” calling her “a differentiator for our affiliate news partners and their viewers.”

Marsh joined WSVN in 2007 as a general assignment reporter. Prior to that, she was an investigative reporter and weekend anchor at WRGB in Albany.

WPBF Reporter Tory Dunnan Named CNN Newsource Correspondent

WPBF reporter Tory Dunnan has been hired as a political correspondent for CNN Newsource, a syndicated news service for CNN’s 800 affiliates, the network announced today.

Dunnan, who joined the West Palm Beach ABC-affiliate in 2009, will report from the campaign trail for “RunningMate 2012,” the political component of CNN Newsource.

“Tory is a driven communicator with a passion for politics,”  CNN vice president of news operations, administration and affiliate services Paul Crum said in a statement. “She will help us continue to give our affiliate news partners and their viewers distinctive, first-class coverage of the politics behind the election cycle.

Prior to working at WPBF, Dunnan was a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor for WAFF in Huntsville, where she won an Alabama AP award for live coverage of Vice President Dick Cheney’s visit to the region.
