Sally MacDonald has been promoted to weekend morning anchor for KRIV, the Fox O&O in Houston.  She will continue to report for the station.

Eric King will anchor the noon news at WLKY in Louisville, KY.  He will remain morning news reporter.

Greg Schieferstein moves to Executive Producer at WTVG in Toledo from Managing Editor at WIFR in Rockford,, IL.

Houston’s KRIV Presents U.S. Senate Debate

Houston FOX O&O KRIV is hosting a debate tonight between the two Republican candidates for U.S. Senate in Texas, David Dewhurst and Ted Cruz.

KRIV anchor Melinda Spaulding will moderate, with reporter Sally MacDonald also participating. Spaulding and MacDonald will ask questions submitted by viewers via Facebook and KRIV’s website.

The hourlong debate will air tonight at 6pmCT on KRIV, as well as the other Fox O&Os in Texas — KTBC in Austin and KDFW in Dallas.  It will also be streamed live on KRIV‘s website.

In Houston, KRIV Adding Weekend Newscasts

Houston Fox O&O KRIV is launching two new weekend newscasts next month. A spokesperson for the station confirmed the news, which was first reported by Houston media blogger Mike McGuff.

The station will launch a weekend morning newscast that will air from 5 to 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. It will be anchored by Sally MacDonald, who gets a promotion from general assignment reporter to weekend morning anchor. John Dawson will be the newscast’s meteorologist.

The second newscast will air from 5 to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Rita Garcia, who currently anchors at 9 p.m. on weekends, will add this newscast to her responsibilities. Both newscasts will debut on July 7.
