Cale Ramaker Out at KLAS

ramaker klasCale Ramaker, anchor for Las Vegas CBS affiliate KLAS, is on his way out at the station.

KLAS news director Ron Comings told TVSpy Ramaker is still an employee until his contract runs out. Comings added, “However, he is free to pursue other opportunities.”

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Ramaker’s departure was announced in a short email last week. “Effective immediately, Cale Ramaker will no longer co-anchor the morning newscast on 8 News Now. We appreciate Cale’s efforts here. He is a good journalist and a solid anchor and I wish him the best as he seeks a new opportunity.”

Ramaker was hired in 2012 along with Shauna Khorrami as part of a new morning team. He had worked at WOFL in Orlando for seven years until his contract wasn’t renewed. Khorrami left KLAS in March last year.

Morning Anchor Shauna Khorrami Out at KLAS

After just eight months as morning co-anchor at KLAS, Shauna Khorrami is out at the Las Vegas CBS affiliate, the Las Vegas Review Journal reports.

Khorrami and co-anchor Cale Ramaker debuted in July. They were hired to replace Dayna Roselli, who was fired from KLAS. Station management said they were “not satisfied” with the ratings for the morning newscast.

According to Review Journal‘s Norm Clarke, Khorrami’s “work habits” could be to blame for her sudden departure:

Meantime, Khorrami’s work habits were causing consternation in the newsroom, according to sources.

On occasion, she was known to show up shortly before the show started at 4 a.m. She tested the producers’ patience, one source said, when, “during breaking news, she would be singing show tunes at her desk.”

The station sent Khorrami and Ramaker to “$1,000-a-day anchor school” for a week and launched an expensive promotional campaign to boost the morning newscast. There has been no significant ratings growth for the program, Clarke reports.

Morning Anchor Dayna Roselli Out at KLAS

Morning anchor Dayna Roselli is no longer with Las Vegas CBS-affiliate KLAS, the Las Vegas Sun reports. Her final broadcast was Monday.

Roselli’s departure comes after KLAS announced a new anchor team, Cale Ramaker and Shauna Khorrami, earlier this week.

“We are not satisfied with our position in the mornings, and that has led us to some difficult decisions,” KLAS news director Ron Comings said. “This is one of several changes we are making to better serve our morning viewers.”

Ramaker and Khorrami are not set to debut until July. In the interim, reporters Jessica Lovell and Patranya Bhoolsuwan will fill in as morning anchors.
