Stephanie Coueignoux Says Goodbye to Cleveland’s WKYC

coueignoux_cropped_wkycStephanie Coueignoux signed off from Cleveland NBC affiliate WKYC this morning.

The station announced the move on its facebook page, “She’s moving back to Florida to be with her husband. We wish her nothing but the best and will miss her every morning on Channel 3 News Today.”

The morning team said goodbye to Coueignoux on this morning’s show. “She made Cleveland TV better,” said Matt Granite. “And Steph is 40 percent of my social life,” he added. Granite then asked anchor John Anderson and meteorologist Hollie Strano to take over for her.

Before coming to WKYC in October 2011, Coueignoux worked at Central Florida News 13. She started her broadcast career at WHDH in Boston.

Erin Kennedy Joining WKYC as Morning Anchor

Erin Kennedy, who is leaving Providence’s WPRI after six years anchoring the station’s evening newscasts, is set to join WKYC as a morning co-anchor alongside Mark Nolan.

“She’ll bring a fresh perspective to Cleveland mornings,” WKYC news director Rita Andolsen said, discussing the move with the station’s “Director’s Cut” blog. “We know that early newscasts are becoming even more important as people organize and begin their busy days, and we’re thrilled to have Erin’s help in creating an even more dynamic show. Having deeper resources at the anchor desk will give us increased flexibility to cover breaking news and weather.”

Kennedy will round out a morning team that, along with Nolan, includes meteorologist Hollie Strano and reporters Amanda Barren and Stephanie CoueignouxRead more
