Hayes’ exit, which will become official on October 5, comes after 14 years with the station. She is married to Ted Pretty, who is the station’s morning meteorologist.

Hayes told the Review-Journal that she was “disappointed and pretty much blindsided,” adding, “It makes no sense.”

She will be replaced by Stefanie Jay, a general assignment reporter at the station, and John Dabkovich, who is joining KVVU from KBAK in Bakersfield.
