Matt Horn Joins Capitol News Service

Matt Horn begins today at Capitol News Service, where he will cover political news for ten local stations in Florida.

Horn comes from Wichita, where he was Salina bureau chief and general assignment reporter at KSNW. In his new role, he will be based in Tallahassee.

Capitol News Service provides political reporting to several national outlets, as well as WFLA in Tampa, WTVJ in Miami, WFTV in Orlando, WINK in Fort Myers, WPTV in West Palm Beach, WCJB in Gainesville, WCTV in Tallahassee, WJHG in Panama City, WEAR in Pensacola and WJXT in Jacksonville.

Ashley Glass Moves to Weekend Co-Anchor at WFTS

Ashley Glass has been promoted to weekend morning co-anchor at Tampa ABC-affiliate WFTS.

Glass, a Florida native, joined WFTS in 2010 as a weekday morning reporter and fill-in anchor. She has previously worked at WCJB in Gainsville, WICS in Springfield, IL and WPEC in West Palm Beach.

Glass will anchor alongside John Thomas and Bill Logan on Saturday and Sunday mornings. She replaces Ellen McNamara, who left WFTS to join KSTP earlier this year.

VIDEO: Rogue Teleprompter Rolls Through WCJB Studio During Newscast

WCJB sports director Chris Price got a big surprise during a recent newscast when a Teleprompter rolled across the studio during a tease for his sports segment (watch above).

“Uh oh, here it comes,” Price said as the Teleprompter came toward him. “We’re going to be back with more fun stuff. You never know what’s going to happen here on WCJB.”
