Oklahoma City AM Anchor Signs Off

stokes_bye_kocoKOCO morning anchor Maggie Stokes signed off from the Oklahoma City ABC affiliate this morning.

“It’s a sad day for us here at KOCO five news,” said Wendell Edwards. “We have to say goodbye to my TV wife here my co-anchor Maggie Stokes who’s leaving to get married,”

Stokes is moving to Florida to be with her fiancee, former KOCO anchor and current WSVN reporter, Brandon Beyer.

Before joining the station in December 2009 as weekday traffic reporter, Stokes worked at KOTV in Tulsa, OK.  She started her career in Denison, TX.

Oklahoma City’s KOCO Shuffles Morning Anchors

Oklahoma City’s KOCO is shaking up the weekday morning anchor team.

Maggie Stokes and Wendell Edwards have been named anchors of the 4:30-7 a.m. newscast, replacing Anita Blanton and Mat Garcia. Stokes and Edwards debuted this morning.

“Maggie and Wendell are great journalists dedicated to serving Oklahoma viewers,” KOCO president and general manager Brent Hensley said in a statement. “We look forward to their continued growth and success in their new roles with the station.” Read more
