Tina Stein Joining WEHT-WTVW as Anchor

Tina Stein will be joining Evansville, IN, ABC and CW affiliate WEHT-WTVW as an anchor.

“Our search for an anchor to fill the void left by Whitney Ray has taken us to Rockford, Illinois and WIFR-TV where we’ve found an anchor who’s earned 11 Associated Press awards for her reporting and last year was named the Best Anchor by the Illinois Broadcasters Association,” WEHT-WTVW news director Bob Freeman told his staff.

Stein said goodbye to WIFR viewers in a post on her station facebook page, “I’ve accepted an Evening Anchor position in Evansville, Indiana. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives and informing me of subjects worth investigating. It’s your voice that helps journalists like myself better serve the community. You will be greatly missed.”

Stein started her career at WIFR in 2006 as a reporter.

Whitney Ray left WEHT-WTVW in July to spend more time with her family.
