WTVT morning anchor Anne Dwyer had an “oops” moment on the Tampa FOX owned station’s ‘Good Day Tampa Bay’ yesterday. Dwyer was teasing an upcoming story about a Florida Lottery winner while going to break, when the control room transitioned to a live shot of feature reporter Charley Belcher. With Belcher full frame, Dwyer said, “This is the most famous woman in Florida right now.”

“Oh, whoa! No You’re not,” said Dwyer. “That’s Charley Belcher.” After acting offended, Belcher later said, “Flag that.” That’ll show up somewhere else I won’t want it to show up.”

“I am fortunate to have been blessed with having worked with such professional colleagues and followed by such loyal viewers. Being a meteorologist for WTVT was a childhood dream of mine, which I was able to fulfill,” Johnson wrote on Facebook. “Tampa is my home and always will be.”

A spokesperson for the station said the search for Johnson’s replacement is underway. WTVT’s current meteorologists will fill in until a permanent replacement is named.

FOX has been slowly adding the show to its station group since March 2012.  After a test run in the Los Angeles market on KTTV, it soon expanded into Phoenix (KSAZ), Boston (WFXT) Chicago (WFLD), Dallas (KDFW), Detroit (WJBK) and Minneapolis (KMSP). Beginning next Fall, FOX will air the show on its remaining stations including New York (WNYW), Philadelphia (WTXF), Washington, D.C (WTTG), Atlanta (WAGA), Houston (KRIV), Tampa (WTVT) and Orlando (WOFL).

The interviews will take place via satellite from Obama’s campaign headquarters in Chicago. In order of interview, he will talk with WHO in Des Moines, KWWL in Cedar Rapids, WTMJ in Milwaukee, WKYC in Cleveland, WKRC in Cincinnati, WFOR in Miami, WTVT in Tampa, WJLA in Washington, KMGH in Denver and KVVU in Las Vegas.

Blegen steps into the role formerly held by Matt Parcell, who was promoted to news director at the station last month. At KTVT, Blegen was the executive producer of investigations and special projects.

“We are extremely excited to bring in someone with Lisa’s great investigative and hard news experience,” Parcell said.

The move is a return to Florida for Blegen, who spent 13 years as an investigative and executive producer at WTVT in Tampa before moving to Dallas in 2010.

Keith Garvin

Garvin joined WTVT from WRC in 2009. He has held a variety of positions at the station, most recently as a reporter and fill-in anchor after he was replaced by Brendan Higgins at the morning anchor desk earlier this year.

KHBS-KHOG vice president and general manager Brian Sather confirmed Dugle’s departure with TVSpy but declined to elaborate on the nature of her exit.

Dugle was named ND at KHBS-KHOG at the beginning of 2010, after working as assistant ND for 18 months at WAPT, Hearst’s station in Jackson, MS.  Before WAPT, Dugle worked as an executive producer at KEYE in Austin and a news producer at WTVT in Tampa.

No word yet on who will replace Dugle at KHBS-KHOG.

Lambert, 61, says that stepping away from the WICS anchor desk will allow him to focus on his family and enjoy some leisure time. He told The State Journal-Register recently that he wants to “just sort of have fun with life.”

His final day on-air is scheduled for July 12–his birthday.

Chris Ford

Ford joins the station from WTMJ, the NBC-affiliate in Milwaukee, where he has been assistant news director since 2007. Ford began his career at WTSP and worked later for WTVT, the Tampa Fox O&O.

Before joining WTMJ, Ford worked at CLTV, the 24-hour cable network in Chicago. The Journal Sentinel reports Ford is a Tampa native with family in the area.

Milbourne joins WTVT from WBTW, the CBS-affiliate in Myrtle Beach. WTVT vice president and news director John Hoffman said in a statement Milbourne’s “strong credentials, coupled with her engaging personality, make her a fitting addition to our station.”

Milbourne, who will be the weekend meteorologist, replaces Sheena Parveen, who left WTVT in November to join WCAU in Philadelphia.

“Craig has family in Tampa,” WFTV general manager Shawn Bartelt told the Orlando Sentinel. “His old station, WTVT, offered him a job to come back. It was a family motivated decision.”

Patrick’s last day with WFTV was Friday. He will be replaced on “Central Florida Spotlight,” the station’s weekly political affairs program, by morning anchor Greg Warmoth, who will fill in until a permanent replacement is named.

Parveen will contribute weather reporting to newscasts at 11 a.m. and 4, 5 and 6 p.m. She will start at the NBC O&O later this month.

WTVT is marking the anniversary of Pearl Harbor with a big find: this week, the Tampa Fox O&O has been airing “exclusive” film footage of the attacks that was recently uncovered by a local military history buff.

The grainy footage was shot by a Navy photographer assigned to the USS Arrgonne on December 7, 1941. A distant relative of the photographer recently responded to a newspaper ad placed by John Bolender, a Florida man who collects military memorabilia, and offered him the film.  According to Bolender, the film had spent years sitting around in a garage.

The Fox O&O aired a locker room interview with the Bucs’s Donald Penn and, while the offensive tackle discussed a pivotal play at the end of the game, one of his teammates walked into the frame completely naked.  As Penn criticized the officiating in the fourth quarter, his teammate–visible only from the waist down–slowly put on a pair of boxer shorts, finally ending the accidental peep show. continued…
