Natalie Wilson has joined Charlottesville NBC-affiliate WVIR as a general assignment reporter.

Wilson joins WVIR from CTV News in Largo, MD, where she was a reporter, anchor and producer. Her television career began at WRC, the NBC O&O in Washington, DC, where she was a production assistant and field producer.

Wilson is currently pursing a Master’s degree in communications at Johns Hopkins, according to her WVIR bio. Her first day on the air was April 2.

Haley Webb has received a big promotion as she prepares to return to WBBH following maternity leave.

Webb, who has been a daytime meteorologist for the Fort Myers NBC-affiliate sine 2005, has been named manager of weather services for Waterman Broadcasting, which owns WBBH in addition to WZVN in Naples and WVIR in Charlottesville.

Webb will now appear on WBBH’s 5:30, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts while also managing the weather operations of its two sister stations.

In making the announcement, the station said that Webb’s loyalty and dedication earned her the promotion.

Webb gave birth to a baby boy on January 18th and is currently on leave from the station.  She is set to return to the air on April 11th. Read more
