Florida Anchor Calls Out Governor for Avoiding Her

News 13 anchor Ybeth Bruzual took to the airwaves to call out Florida Governor Rick Scott for ignoring her interview requests.

She said she’d been booking Gubernatorial candidates to appear on her show Political Connections which airs in Tampa and Orlando and asked Scott to come on, but was ignored.

Bruzual decided enough was enough when Scott’s office reached out to Bright House Network’s Spanish language channel InfoMas. When Bright House told Scott’s office Bruzual would do the InfoMas interview, the Governor’s office told the station they wanted to choose the interviewer and he would only talk about Hispanic Outreach.

“Our management agreed that it would set a dangerous precedent to accede to such conditions and declined the campaign’s request,” said Bruzual.

Orlando Stations Follow Casey Anthony’s Jail Release

Shortly after midnight on Sunday, Casey Anthony was released from jail. The Orlando stations, which have followed the case for the better part of three years, were ready. All five stations in the market started coverage in primetime Saturday night and stayed on the air well past midnight, when Anthony allegedly boarded a jet at a local airport and took off for a still-unknown destination.

Fox O&O WOFL went on the air the earliest and stayed on the latest, with Keith Landry and Tracey Jacim anchoring coverage from 10 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

WESH stayed in regular programming until a few minutes before Anthony was released from jail. The NBC affiliate broke in to “Saturday Night Live” with coverage anchored by Cara Moore. WESH went back into regular programming at 1 a.m.
