Ryan Peterson is joining WNCT, Media General’s CBS affiliate in Greenville, N.C.

Peterson will anchor the 5 p.m. newscast on WNCT and the 10 p.m. newscast on a CW-affiliated digital subchannel. Jeff Varner and Amanda Goodman will continue to anchor the 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts.

“We are very fortunate to have Ryan joining the 9 On Your Side team.  His extensive journalism experience will be a compliment to our team,” news director Ingrid Johansen said in a statement.

Peterson joins the station from New York, where he has worked for YNN, Time Warner Cable’s 24-hour local news network, since 2002.

Amy Hadley Returning to YNN Austin

Amy Hadley is re-joining YNN Austin, Time Warner Cable’s 24-hour local cable channel, the Austin American-Statesman reports.

Hadley returns to the station after two years in Prague. She will anchor the midday newscasts on YNN, taking the place of Paul Brown, who will become a full-time political reporter.

“I aim to be me on camera, and I think people appreciate that. They feel like they know me and they trust me. Also, I don’t take myself too seriously. There’s a whole blooper reel at YNN of me falling off things as a reporter,” Hadley told the Austin American Statesman.”As an anchor, I intend to bring the same energy and authenticity to the desk. And while I don’t think I’ll manage to fall off my chair, we’ll be building in opportunities for fun and personality.”
