Toni Falvo Joins Tribune Broadcasting as SVP of Research

tribune broadcastingToni Falvo has been named senior vice president of research for Tribune Broadcasting. In her new role, which begins December 9, she will oversee all research functions for Tribune’s stations.

“As Tribune’s growing portfolio of assets provides us with a variety of new opportunities to better analyze and understand the audiences watching our stations, I am confident Toni has the talent, experience and drive required to make a significant impact on our goals,” Tribune Broadcasting president Larry Wert said in a statement.

Falvo comes from WMAQ, the NBC owned station in Chicago, where she is the vice president of research, programming and press. She has worked there since 1998.

CHICAGO, Nov. 19, 2013—Tribune Broadcasting today announced the appointment of Toni Falvo as SVP/Research. Falvo will oversee all research functions for Tribune Company’s broadcast stations. She will begin her new duties, based in Chicago, on December 9 and report to Larry Wert, Tribune’s President of Broadcast Media.

Falvo comes to Tribune from WMAQ-TV, the NBC O&O in Chicago, where she has been Vice President of Research, Programming and Press.  She joined WMAQ-TV in 1998 as Research Director and immediately became a key participant in developing station strategy.  She began her broadcast television career at WLS-TV, the ABC O&O station Chicago, and held positions in finance and research, eventually becoming Research Director. Falvo is active in the television research community, participating in a variety of Media Research and Nielsen Committees.
