Univision Annouces New VP-GM of Chicago Stations

Univision announced the appointment of Carlos San Jose as vice president and general manager of its Chicago-area stations today.

San Jose will take over operations at Chicago’s Univision station WGBO. He will also be at the helm of another Chicago-area Univision station, WFXT, that focuses on entertainment programming. San Jose, who began his career in radio, has worked for more than two decades in the Spanish-language media market.

“We are thrilled to have a veteran media executive with over 25 years experience in both Spanish- and English-language radio and television on board,” said Ramon Pineda, senior vice president and regional director of Univision.

“This is an exciting opportunity to be charged with managing two stations in this incredibly important market,” said San Jose. “I look forward to taking on this challenge.”
