Uncle Barky’s Bytes

Keith Garvin Keith Garvin, a veteran TV newsman who has spent the last three years at NBC-owned WRC-TV in Washington, D.C., will be the new co-anchor of TXA21‘s “First in Prime” 7 to 9 p.m. newscasts.

He’ll be replacing Chris Salcedo and joining incumbent Tracy Kornet.

“I’m very much looking forward to joining the team at TXA21,” Garvin said in an email Monday night to unclebarky.com. “I was raised in Bryan-College Station and have followed the Dallas-Fort Worth market for years.”

TXA21, sister station of CBS11, hasn’t officially announced the hire yet, so there’s no specific information on Garvin’s start date. He joined WRC in October 2006, and has been a weekend anchor for the station’s “News4 Today.” More…
