Veteran Eliott Rodriguez Reclaims Weeknight Anchor Seat as WFOR Shuffles On-Air Roster

Miami’s WFOR is shuffling its on-air roster and Eliott Rodriguez (left), who has been with the CBS O&O for over a decade, is reclaiming his former spot at the weekday evening anchor desk.

WFOR announced today that Rodriguez would replace Antonio Mora as Shannon Hori‘s co-anchor for the station’s 5 and 11 p.m. newscasts.  Rodriguez had served as WFOR’s main anchor until 2008, when he was replaced by Mora, who jumped to WFOR from Chicago’s WBBM. Since then, he has been working the station’s noon and 5:30 p.m. newscasts.

Mora will now anchor the 6 p.m. newscast solo as Hori will team with Rodriguez from 5 to 6 p.m., in addition to 11.  Cynthia Demos, who had been anchoring 5:30 p.m. as well as the 10 p.m. newscast on sister station WBFS, will now focus exclusively on the 10 p.m. show.

“These new assignments will maximize the strengths of each of our anchors,” said Adam Levy, WFOR’s vice president and general manager, in making the announcement. “We look forward to having Eliott, Shannon, Antonio and Cynthia continue to play major roles for us.”
